When you are registering Whost, you can tick 'install wordpress' during the registration process, and we will install wordpress for you.
But if you want to install it by yourself, here are the steps on how to do it:
Step 1. Download and unzip wordpress
Go to http://wordpress.org Click 'Download Wordpress'. And then unzip it.
Step 2. Copy the files to server
FTP to your server. You should have the FTP login from your email when you are first registered in Whost. To use FTP, for Mac, you can use the software 'Transmit'. For Windows, you can use the software 'Filezilla'.
Under the folder 'web', you will see folders with your domain name. If you have multiple domain linked in the same server, you will have mutiple folders here.
Inside the folder for your domain, go to folder 'public_html'. Here is the root folder for your website.
You can now copy and past all the files of wordpress you just extracted from your local computer to your server. Normally, you would like to install wordpress to the root folder for your domain. So just copy all the wordpress files to the folder 'public_html'
Step 3. Setup a database in Vesta Control Panel Login to your vesta control panel. Go 'DB' -> 'Add Database'. Fill in the database name, user and password. For 'host', use 'localhost'. For 'type', use 'mysql'.
*Be aware that vesta control panel will automatically add prefix to your database name and user. Use the one with prefix later on when you are filling the information!
Step 4. Run the wordpress install wizard
Type your domain in your browser. If you have copied the wordpress files under the 'public_html' folder, you should see a 'Wordpress Install Wizard'. Follow the instruction, fill in the database information you just created. All done! Enjoy wordpress!
